Vincenzo La Spesa – Minimal Sketch Nr 1

Description

Anna Heller plays “Minimal Sketch Nr. 1” for piano solo by Vincenzo La Spesa.

The first of a set of 6, minimal sketch nr.1, uses hypnotic and contemplative language to create a dormant emotional trance and a psychological statics unable to evolve. The empty fifths that accompany the entire composition symbolize the single modern thought deprived of individual identities. The melody, a representation of the single, tries to break the static with micro-variations but stumbles in the various accents changes. Finally, the accompaniment invades the terrain of the melody, engulfing it.
