John about his prelude: “This prelude is in ternary form (A-B-A1) and possesses a big influence of minimalism. The melody consists in the union of two melodic lines and variations that converges in just one melodic line. One of the features of this piece consist in sustain a pedal in tonic and sub-dominant (Mi and La) that helps to blur the perception of a stable tonal center (Mi bemol minor) and this feature confers a modal quality to this piece. Other constant feature is the rhythmic ostinato that create the feeling of biorhythm.”
