Naji Hakim – NOCTURNO pour piano (from Sonate Basque)

Description

Meet Naji Hakim – Lebanese-French organist, composer, and improviser. He studied under Jean Langlais, and succeeded Messiaen as organist at the Église de la Sainte-Trinité, Paris.
I chose the second movement from the piano sonata “Sonate Basque”. It is a mixture of folk and classical music. I liked the expressive nocturno – this slow movement is a variation on the Basque melody of Haurtxo ttipia.
