Tonight I watched “Perfume: The story of a Murderer” a film adaption of Patrick Suskind’s novel by director Tom Tykwer. the film makes references to the analogies between music and perfumery such as 12 essences and four-part harmonies. I became very interested in this subject and did a little research. Further information in the link below.

Bumble bee sounds inspiration

A composition using the sounds of nesting bumblebees.
Tibetan singing bowl and percussion made from recycled objects. I am particularly pleased with the way the harmonics of the chimes (made from aluminium sailing masts) and singing bowl work with the bees hum. Headphones or speakers with good bass are required for the low tones of the gong(made from steel juice barrel lid.)

Here are two new pieces of spontaneous piano composition created during the last few days: Random 2 & 3, played and recorded without premeditation & set to videos shot on a local walk. I have not edited the music and deliberately left any flaws in place to reflect my mood at the time:
