Leonid Desyatnikov Prelude III. Ian, where d’you come from? — Beyond the Danube Songs of Bukovina

Description

From the composer: “These pieces [24 Preludes for Piano] were composed without interruption over several months. As a consequent they exhibit a fairly narrow range in style and expressive intent, rather like a collection of short stories that take place in restricted time and location. I chose to call the set ‘Preludes’ partly because of the joy I still derive from sets with the same title, most notably those from Bach, Chopin and Rachmaninoff.”
