Douglas Biggs about his music: “Romanze is a lovely work featuring rich expression mixed with a healthy amount of “fireworks.” The first part of the piece is marked molto flessibile ed espressivo, featuring lyrical melodies and unpredictable harmonic movement, encouraging the pianist to explore different colors of tone and emotion. The second section becomes more passionate with visceral harmonies and an aggressive playing style. Romanze closes with a brief, but sweet reprise of the opening. ”
