Interview

What does music mean to you personally?

I can’t imagine my life without music.

Do you agree that music is all about fantasy?

Yes, it may be of more concern for the composers of romantics.

If you were not a professional musician, what would you have been?

I would be try to become of movie maker.

The classical music audience is getting old, are you worried about the future?

There is an opinion that 5% of the population either listen to classical music or participate in the process of its creation. I think this ratio will continue.

What do you envision the role of music to be in the 21st century? Do you see that there is a transformation of this role?

Unfortunately, the Internet provides more opportunities for representatives of show business. Bright clips, original clothes, shocking behavior on the stage always attracts the attention of the viewer. Although new technologies make it possible to better promote classical music. For example, I subscribed to the Internet channel “Berliner Philharmoniker”.

Do you think that the musician today needs to be more creative? What is the role of creativity in the musical process for you?

The composer should be more involved in promoting his music, especially if you do not have your own agent.

Do you think we as musicians can do something to attract the younger generation to music concerts? How would you do this?

It is necessary to spend as much time as possible on the performance of classical music among children and young people. It is practically impossible to instill a love of classical music if a person is over 30 years old.

Tell us about your creative process. What is your favorite piece (written by you) and how did you start working on it?

The creative process is very simple. If this is a big work, I think over its structure. Then, I sat down at the piano and on the computer. You can hear my plays that I recorded with the best pop orchestra of the USSR. I give the link: store.cdbaby.com/cd/gaza6. CD called “Warm Rain”

Can you give some advice for young people who want to discover classical music for themselves?

You need to start by listening to popular works by composers such as Debussy, Saint Sans, Tchaikovsky, where there is always a bright beautiful melody.

I always think that my music should be interesting to the listener.

What projects are coming up? Do you experiment in your projects?

I plan to write a work for a symphony orchestra using jazz elements. IN addition, I try myself in electronic music on Spotify laid out my last сd “Colourful World”.
