My approach to classical music:
For me classical music is the finest art being created within the mystery of time; the duration of music is fleeting, but its existence is eternal, like the eternity of a moment and the instance of a lifetime.
Because it's a joy for the mind, a shelter for the soul and a consolation for the heart.
It's about pure beauty. It's about spirituality. It's about sensuality. It's about every kind of emotion. It's about humour. It's about fantasy. It's about dreams.
I see myself as a medium between the public and the composer, who himself, remains a medium between us and infinity.
Dostoyevsky's famous phrase says "Beauty will save the world". I believe that our task remains to be an interpreter of this message, each of us doing his best. As a pianist, I can't change the world, I can only bring some beauty into it - the beauty of music which saves me and helps others to survive. This is my creed as an artist.

Irina Lankova radiates with her talent and beauty on the biggest stages of the world. Described by the international press as a pianist with “genuinely poetic touch" and “infinite palette of colours”, she reunites in her playing the best traditions of the Russian piano school and the freshness of personal interpretations.
Irina Lankova performs in most prestigious concert halls such as Wigmore Hall in London, Flagey in Brussels, Salle Gaveau in Paris, Französischer Dom in Berlin and Cidades das Artes in Rio. She is invited to play in many international festivals: Beloeil, Classissimo and Musique 3 in Belgium, Fortissimo in Orleans, Académie d’Eté de Nice, Festival of Yuri Bashmet, Berlin Festival and Sagra Musicale Umbria.
Born in Russia and graduated from Gnessin Music School in Moscow and from Brussels’ Royal Conservatory, she studied with great pianists such as Lev Naumov, Vladimir Tropp, Evgeny Moguilevsky and Vladimir Ashkenazy. She played as a soloist with orchestras including Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Nijnij Novgorod Philharmonic and Novosibirsk Symphony Orchestra.
In 2008, Irina Lankova was invited to join the worldwide piano elite ‘Steinway Artists’.
Irina Lankova recorded several awarded albums: Rachmaninov, Liszt, Scriabin, Chopin and Schubert. Since 2013, Irina Lankova plays in duet with violinist Tatiana Samouil. Together, they recorded an album ‘Caprice’.
Inspired by others arts and always in search for new ways of presenting the classical music, Irina Lankova develops personal multimedia projects. The first project ‘Goldberg Mirrors’ first took place in Brussels’ Cathedral St Michel & Gudule in 2014 and has been reproduced in Französischer Dom in Berlin in 2015.
Irina Lankova is also producer of concerts in Belgium and France, she lectures on classical music and popularise it through various appearances and collaborations.
