My approach to classical music:
«I consider my playing like a mission: it’s my life’s work. From the onset of my studies, my dream has been to bring music to the heart of people.Due to the phenomenon of fast innovations in our society, classical musicians are ever more engaged in discovering new frontiers in artistic communication able to transmit more easily meanings as refreshed vehicles of empathic self-expression. Thus, I believe that a synergy between classical music and other different arts constitutes an innovative performative challenge connecting artists and spectators in an immediate correspondence of emotions as I have been experimenting through my concert projects. »

Giusy Caruso, born in Italy and living in Brussels, is a polyvalent figure. Devoted to her piano career, she is not only a musician but also an artist researcher and piano teacher. Her multiple interests concerning Musicology, Philosophy, Theatre, Dance, Improvisation, Yoga and Eastern cultures make her a many-sided artist. Her performance projects based on a repertory ranging from classical to contemporary style often present, indeed, interactions with visual arts, theatre and dance. Stimulated by this wide horizon of experiences, her personal concert-projects, challenging performances and unconventional thematic artistic events aim at catching and increasing the interest of a larger audience as reported in the reviews made by distinguished worldwide music critics. Rewarded by important institutions, Ms. Caruso carries on her concert activity throughout Europe, Asia and America while holding a post as an artist researcher in the Department of Musicology, Art, Music Performance and Theater Studies (IPEM) at the University of Ghent (Belgium) in affiliation with the School of Arts (KASK) - Royal Conservatory of Ghent.
