Location

Neuschwanstein Castle is a nineteenth-century Romanesque Revival palace on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau. The palace was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and as an homage to Richard Wagner. The concerts take place in the “Sängersaal”. King Ludwig wanted to hear in this concert hall only music of his favorite composer Richard Wagner.

Music Program

Wagner music from „Die Meisteringer von Nürnberg“. Program is no more limited to Wagner but includes also the “Brandenburgische Konzerte” of Johann Sebastian Bach and the „Sinfonie Nr. 6 F-Dur op.- 68 – Pastorale“.
