Location

An impressive row of oak trees leads to the historically preserved grounds at Altenhof, whose origin dates back to the 15th century. The castle-like manor near the Eckernförder Bay is an excellent depiction of the aristocratic culture of the region. A number of estate buildings are located on the premises, including a thatched grain-barn and a cow-barn from the year 1711, which is now used for concerts and art exhibitions. Since renovation in 1988, the cow-barn now hosts a concert hall with 870 seats, culinary offerings, and exhibition space at the entrance. Altenhof has since become one of the most beloved venues of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival
