I compose music of various genres/styles for film, video, dance and theatre. I also learn a limited number of works by other composers for piano and mandolin. I rarely perform in public. For me classical music is nourishment for the soul. I do not like it to be corrupted or commercialised.

Freelance music practitioner, composer and educator. Born and grew up absorbing multi-cultural influences of Birmingham Studied piano and composition at Birmingham Music Studios 1970-1978. Studied jazz piano in Newcastle 1994-1999. 2001-present: Production of original recorded music and sound effects from own studio for BBC, Tyne Tees TV, Sky TV, Discovery Channel, Studio Arts TV, Luk Luk Productions, Metal Pig Films Ltd., Imagine Studios, Compagnie Animotion, The National Trust and David and Charles Publications, also theatre and dance productions. Contracted as Community Music Coordinator for The Maltings Arts Centre Berwick upon Tweed 2001-2004. Set up Maltsingers Community Choir, and SCRAP (community junk percussion band,) Ran full programme of all styles of music performances and educational workshops. Raised £37,000 for community music projects. 2001-present: Direct Junk Music, conventional Percussion, composition and improvisation workshops and performance including: Dartington International Summer School, Spitalfields Festival, Hexham Abbey Festival, The Sage Gateshead, Darlington Academy, BBC Children in Need, Stockton Carnival, Alnwick Garden Manchester Science Festival, Aberdeen Techfest, Newcastle Science Festival and The Tall Ships Race, Other music/science educational workshops, Creative Partnerships, music sculptures, tuition and performances at schools, museums, community centres, youth clubs, nature reserves, country parks, hospitals, conferences and work places on a Regional and National level. Possess enhanced CRB & £10m PLI.
