Niklas about his work: “This piece was inspired by a friend’s drafts for a fantasy novel. The protagonist has a premonition that the world she knows is in great peril and sees herself riding out to warn it against coming danger. This vision is repeated before she suddenly wakes up, and in the silence that follows she first thinks it was all just a dream until two dark chords remind her of what she must do. With its brooding atmosphere, the piece can be seen as an étude/study in the buildup of tension.”
