Composer Dave Kenney about his composition:
“I was inspired to write this piece when I attended a flamenco concert and besides the wonderful guitar work I was smitten by the women dancers. To see their dresses moving to the music with such passion was mesmerizing. The air was filled with beautiful colors. Fortunately for me they perform a lot in my hometown of Phoenix. In my piano work I tried to capture the energy and color of a Flamenco dance. The biggest challenge I found is the syncopation that the music demands. Like East Indian music, it is more of a feeling than trying to count it.
I am so fortunate to have someone as gifted as Anna performing this piece and put the real passion into it. To that end I have dedicated it to Anna. “
