Tiziano Bedetti, Composer and teacher
My approach to classical music:
I believe classical music helps people to better understand themselves by breaking down walls and barriers. Music enriches us inside and helps us to grow humanly and socially.
Tiziano Bedetti, italian composer and pianist, was born in Rovigo (next to Venice) in 1976. At the Adria Conservatory, he got his diploma in Piano, Composition, Chorus and Conducting. Later on, he studied Composition with Bruno Coltro (a pupil of Gian Francesco Malipiero), Bruno Bettinelli, Goffredo Petrassi, obtaining after, the Doctorate in Composition with full marks. He also got a Diploma at the Civica Scuola di Musica of Milan with Mauro Bonifacio. Moreover, he specialized with Azio Corghi at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome and at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena. He also studied orchestration with the American composer Jon Ward Bauman. He was prize winner of important national and international composition competitions: Premio Valentino Bucchi (Rome 1992,1993,1994), International Tourney of Music (Rome 1998-1999), Concorso Internazionale di Composizione Città di Pavia (1999), Antonio De Curtis International Composer Competition of Naples (2001), INMC 2000 Composition Competition of New York, (USA). He was also awarded at the Jahrespreis 2001 by STAB Foundation of Zürich (Switzerland) and won the Opera Prima Talenti Award 2002, organized by the Ricordi Publishing House and Festa della Musica of Milan. He received also the Prize from “La luce dell’Arte” society of Rome for hight cultural merits and the “benemerenza civica” from his City, as celebrated composer. His works have been performed in Italy and abroad at leading festivals, concert halls and theatres, including: Expo of Milan 2015 (Milan), Auditorium “G. Tiziano Bedetti has published works for Rai Trade Editions of Rome, Curci of Milan, Rugginenti of Milan, Carrara of Bergamo, Bèrben of Ancona, Bayard Nizet (Brussels, Belgium), Bardon Enterprises (United Kingdom), Harrock Hall (USA). He recorded for the AlfaMusic, Ariston, Curci, Phoenix Classics, Tactus, Vdm Records and Rara Records labels. He has been nominated European Representative of U.N.C.L.A. (Unione Nazionale Compositori Librettisti Autori di musica leggera) - Milan and Member of the Lyrical Section Technical Committee of SIAE (Società Italiana degli Autori ed Editori) - Rome. He has written for theater, ballet, orchestra, choir and chamber music among which the ballet “Colour of the Seasons” staged by Aton Dino Verga Danza , "Venetian DNA" staged by Olga Aru, first dancer of Moscow Ballet and the opera-musical “Madam Senator” on the libretto of the broadway playwright Mario Fratti. He also taught at the “F. A. Bonporti” of Trento, “G. Frescobaldi” of Ferrara, “G. Puccini” of La Spezia, “O. Respighi” of Latina, “G. Nicolini” of Piacenza, “G. Verdi” of Milan. He is Professor of Theory Rhythmics and Perception at the Conservatory “A. Buzzolla” of Adria.
